EU students applying to a university locate in another European member state they do not require a visa to enter the country.

Academic documents should be legalized. Most legalization is carried out at the country where the document is issued. There are two ways to legalize a document. Either by requesting by the relevant authority to put a special stamp known as Apostille or you could ask your country’s ministries of education and foreign affairs to validate your documents. Most of the time documents traced back to the source with a QR Code.

There are two medical schools in sofia, Medical University Sofia (MU Sofia) and St Kliment Faculty of Medicine. There many similarities an a number of differences between them. The similarities are that both schools are public, the teachings language is Bulgarian and English, the degrees offered engoy the same validity and accreditation, and they both have entry exams. The differences are few but very important. MU Sofia offer all medical disciplines while the medical faculty at St Kliment offers only medicine and pharmacy in english. In addition MU Sofia takes a larger number of students than the faculty of medicine.

Fees vary between countries and Universities as well as amongst disciplines. The fees for medical degrees in Bulgaria start from 7000 to 8000 euros:

Medicine – dentistry to 9000 euros

Pharmacy to 6000 euros

Business, Computing, Enginering from 1500 to 3300 euros

 

 

International student require to obtain a visa either in their country or in another country where there are consular services.

Medicine is offered by all medical universities and it is considered to be a prefered choice by international students. Dentistry is offered only at MU Sofia, MU Plovdiv and Varna. The duration of studies for both disciplines is 6 years.

Medical universities have small fees differences. In Sofia the tuition fee for medicine is between 7700 and 9000 euros. Outside sofia the tuition fees are between 7000 and 9000 euros. Most dental and pharmacy faculties have the same fee, 8000 and 6000 euros respectively.

There are different entry exam strategies followed by Bulgarian medical schools. In Sofia both medical schools hold their entry exams in September. Trakia University, MU Plovdiv, MU Pleven, and MU Varna hold a number of entry exams starting from April in each academic year.
